McArdle Bridge Update

MA - BOSTON INNER HARBOR – CHELSEA CREEK – ANDREW P. McARDLE BRIDGE- Bridge Repairs
Mariners are advised that unscheduled bridge deck repairs will be conducted to Andrew P. McArdle Bridge from July 28th, 2025, through August 14th, 2025. Work hours will be 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A manlift barge and tending vessel will be moored to the bridge fender system during work hours. Mariners are requested to provide one-hour advanced notice to the on-scene contractor for a bridge opening. On-scene POC Mr. Russell Forest (978) 360-6079 The bridge tender will be on scene during the maintenance period and can be reached via VHF-FM Ch 13. Questions may be directed to the City of Boston Public Works at (617) 635-2220 or Mr. Spencer Kresge (508) 932-7254. Mariners are advised to use caution and plan their transits accordingly.

Partly sunny, very warm and humid with a thunderstorm in the area late this afternoon; storms can bring flooding downpours and localized damaging wind gusts.
 
Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Weak high pres remains along the Ern seaboard today. A cold front
moves N to S across the New England waters tonight and then stalls
south of the MA/RI waters Thu, as low pres develops on this front
and tracks NE. Gusty NE winds and heavy rain will impact the MA/RI
waters for a time from late Thu into Fri evening. Then a large,
sprawling high pres builds across New England later Sat into Sun.
 
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...NE winds around 5 kt, becoming SE this afternoon. Seas
around 2 ft. Wave Detail: S 1 foot at 3 seconds and NE 1 foot at
7 seconds.
.TONIGHT...SW winds around 10 kt, becoming N with gusts up to
20 kt after midnight. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: S 2 ft at
3 seconds and E 2 ft at 8 seconds.
.THU...NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 to
3 ft. Wave Detail: NE 2 ft at 5 seconds and S 1 foot at
4 seconds. A chance of showers.
.THU NIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: NE 3 ft at 5 seconds. A chance of showers
in the evening, then showers likely after midnight with vsby 1 to
3 NM.
.FRI AND FRI NIGHT...N winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt.
Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: NE 4 ft at 5 seconds. A chance of
showers. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.SAT THROUGH SUN NIGHT...SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to
25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: NE 4 ft at 6 seconds and S
3 ft at 4 seconds.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
