Whiskey: Set when gale force winds are expected to arrive at the port within 72 hours. Port remains open to all commercial traffic,
but oceangoing ships and barges must report their intention to remain in port or depart. If they are departing, they must do so within
12 hours of gale-force winds.
CURRENT CHANNEL STATUS
X-Ray: Gale force winds are expected within 48 hours. The rules are similar to port condition Whiskey.
Yankee: Gale force winds predicted within 24 hours. Vessels seeking to depart must arrange immediate departure. Cargo
operations must cease with 18 kilometre per hour (kph) winds. Transfer hoses must be disconnected with 22 kph winds.
Ships seeking to arrive in port should seek an alternate destination.
Zulu: Gale force winds within 12 hours. The port is closed.

Over the next day or so, Beryl will turn more to the northwest toward a weakness in subtropical high pressure over the southern United States, and because
of the influence from an upper-level low-pressure system located to Beryl's west. Landfall of Beryl as a hurricane is predicted to occur somewhere from near
the Houston and Galveston areas southward to near Brownsville.
This weekend: Beryl is expected to be pulled northwestward through the Gulf of Mexico toward the Texas coast. The greatest chance for
steady intensification into a hurricane will begin on Sunday.
Monday: Landfall is expected on the Texas coast with damaging winds, storm surge, heavy rain and a few tornadoes.

USCG HOUSTON COC INSPECTIONS
USCG Sector Houston will no longer accept COC exam requests seeking a date more than 10 calendar days in advance. Additionally, SHG will normally not accept new requests made less than 24 hours advance.
OFF-SIGNERS:
CBP Houston does not permit off-signers to stay in hotel to await their flights home. They must go direct for vessel to IAH for their flights.
Valid C1-D USA visa is required for all off-signers by CBP Houston, on very rare occasions will exception be made by CBP Houston.

Area of Responsibility
Sector Houston-Galveston encompasses an area extending from the east bank of the Colorado River in southwest Texas to 60 miles east of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The Sector’s northern boundary aligns with the Texas- Oklahoma border and encompasses Lake Texoma. The southern border extends 200 miles offshore to the seaward
extent of the U.S. exclusive economic zone. The unit includes two separate Captain of the Port (COTP) zones and major maritime centers including Houston, Beaumont,
Lake Charles, Texas City, Port Arthur, Freeport and Galveston.
